Add two free plugins - sketchy physics and Proper Animation and you're able to animate individual objects within scenes and render video animations with Twilight. The pair will do animated scene fly-throughs out of the box. With the $100 Twilight renderer, you get ray-trace rendering for some very nice output. I use it more than all the others combined. I also use DAZ, Poser, Bryce, TrueSpace, Argile, Wings (free) K-3D (free), Carrara, Blender, etc., but Google's free Sketchup is the easiest to learn and use. that's one reason I dual boot back to WinXP-32. It wouldn't work properly in my Win7-64 bit OS. not just an enhanced version of the titling software. Having said all of that, I do think that any decent 3D work needs a standalone application. But anyway, being able to just open the 3D clip from the Vegas timeline, change the animation, and see the update immediately (or with little prerender effort) would be nearly invaluable. Especially if it was advanced enough to take certain objects from the same scene and place them on different timeline layers (assuming they didn't cross in z-space).Īlso, I wouldn't mind being able to tie it to a camera tracker directly on the Vegas timeline. It would eliminate all the compositing hassles I would think. I would think if they made extensive use of the graphics card for preview then we could get live previews without needing to render first. Maybe something like the way Cinescore was integrated. It would definitely be nice to have something like that directly integrated to the Vegas timeline. I found it especially nice for quick 3D title creation. I realise the daylight savings change occurred some time ago, but if by chance you captured your clips and started your project some time ago, and only just now got around to resuming it, this might be your problem.I used to use Ulead Cool 3D Studio also. (Similar patch in VS 8 did not have uniformly positive results.) A patch was brought out for VS 7 which, IIRC, worked. I recall that many users of VS 7 (and some of had trouble after daylight saving was introduced and this somehow changed the parameters of what VS 7 was looking for in the original clips. If the foregoing does not relate to your situation, the only other thing I can think of is a very uncertain one. Your project file and indeed the icons on the library pane, only tell you were the files themselves are actually stored. If in fact you clips are on an external disc which is not turned on, VS 7 (and will of course not be able to find them and will come up with the re-link message. Can you tell us if the video files you wanted were on an external hard disk and whether that disk was turned on when you started VS7? I ask because some people think that because they have icons of the clips on the VS 7 library pane, they clips themselves are also there somewhere. ![]()
